Halloween Photos & Upcoming Classes/Events

Here's some Halloween projects we made during our last weekend away! I'm sorry they're too late for this Halloween but I just never had time to post them till now! I did manage to get 30 pencils done for my son's class and a couple of the Halloween "dudes" were turned into York Peppermint Patty treats for friends. Oh well! Now I have everything already cut for next Halloween!!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by one of my Open Houses, either last Saturday in South Jersey or this Saturday in North Jersey!! If you weren't able to make it, please call or email me to set up a class or workshop around your schedule! Here's a little treat I made for everyone who stopped by one of the Open Houses ...

A few chocolate nuggets, wrapped with Summer Picnic DSP which I also used on the topper. I also used the package stamp from one of the new Level 2 Hostess Sets, Deer Friends.

I've got upcoming Stamp-A-Stacks and Technique Tuesdays on my calendar. Check them out!! I'm also going to be adding a Card Tote & Matching Card Class - I'll post pictures this week, along with the dates. Here's a pretty bag I made while I was at my Mom's last weekend ...

Very simple using Designer Series Double Sided Paper, a white lunch bag, and the Word Window Punch. I made about 15 to have on hand for gifts!! They were really easy to make and I made a couple of different heights!!

Instructions:
Tear bottom of Riding Hood Red card stock using The Tearing Edge; adhere to Night of Navy card. Wheel star image in Riding Hood Red ink on Confetti White card stock. Stamp letters “th” and “nks” of “Thanks” sentiment in Night of Navy ink on Confetti White card stock. Adhere Confetti White card stock to card. Wheel star image in Riding Hood Red ink on Kraft card stock. Punch out two stars using Star punch. Adhere one star between “h” and “n” in “Thanks” using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere second star to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp “For everything” in Night of Navy ink on Kraft card stock. Cut out and adhere to card under “Thanks.” Punch two circles in card using 1/16” Circle punch and adhere Silver brads.

Convention News!!

Even though I wasn't able to attend the Stampin' Up! Convention this year, I have been stalking the convention goers websites to see all the "sneak peeks"!! You guys are going to be SOOOOO excited!! I don't have pictures to show you but I can tell you that the new stamps are awesome!! There's a new butterfly one, a cute set with owls, a great set with drinks (yes, a fozen one and one with an umbrella!!), a cute camping one, several new Christmas sets and several new Halloween sets (plus lots more)!! There's new accessories including new brads, newly designed ribbons, fantastic new Designer Series Double Sided Papers, and the big news today was that we will now be able to offer the Big Shot Die Cut Machine from Sizzix, along with exclusive dies!! Yeah!!

Monthly Ladies Night Out

I just added a new "Ladies Night Out" on my monthly calendar through June. It will be held the first Saturday night of every month, except March (it's the second Saturday 3/8, since I'll be at a wedding on the 1st). Please let me know if you are interested in joining me to have fun playing with our stamps!!

Here's a great card my girlfriend, Rae Richardson, made:

Card Recipe: Stamps: So Much, Card Stock: Tempting Turquoise - 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" and one 1/2" punch to say "lift", Whisper White - 5" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 3/4" and 6 5/8", Pink Passion - for 1 scallop punch, Green Galore - for 2 small oval punches and 1 1/2" punch for center of flower. Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion. Accessories: Buttons---Bold Brights (lovely lilac used), 1/2" circle punch, small oval punch, scallop punch, 2 way glue pen to make flap sticky so card stays shut until it's opened, tempting turquoise marker to write " lift" on flap.

Rae, thank you so very much for making such a great card and sharing all the details so we can make our own!! This is such a cute Thank You Card, with a different look using the fold in the middle. Feel free to change the colors around and make a few for yourself!!

Newly Updated Blog

Hi ... I am really back this time!! I was discouraged because no one was leaving comments so I stopped updating my blog. But now I am making the effort to post at least once a week (hopefully more!) and from there, we'll see how it goes! If you stop by to visit, please be sure to leave a comment so I know you're out there!

I will be uploading some projects and cards I've made over the last couple of months. Hopefully they can inspire you to create your own masterpieces!! I will also be posting pictures of upcoming classes. I have just added a monthly Technique Tuesday, the second Tuesday of every month, where you can learn three techniques and use them in a project or card. The first class will be March 11th from 7pm to 9pm. The cost for these classes will be $20 and will include all instructions and envelopes for the cards you make!! Be sure to RSVP early to save your seat since space is limited!!

I will also be offering a Ladies Night Out once a month - the dates and details will be announced shortly. As soon as my basement is finished being decluttered, organized and made into my new stamping room, I will be offering a monthly scrapbook day. You'll be able to come over, spread out and work on your scrapbooks while enjoying snacks, food and catching up with friends! Look for this project to be completed by the summer and the scrapbook days to be announced!!

Just an updated for anyone following my blog from the onset ... I completed my 9-1-1 Dispatch training and am now working for two police departments part time. I also picked up a part time schedule from St. Clare's working as a Transport Dispatcher. I am looking forward to working at the day camp again this summer as an EMT for the kids. And I've also been helping out planning some kids activities over the winter. I really enjoy making my own schedule and the extra money has really helped out our family!! It may sound like a lot but I seem to work better when I'm busy!! My schedules are also made-to-order ... I get to pick up shifts that fit into my schedule, plan my time off without asking anyone for it and still leave time for my Stampin' Up! customers!!

Well, I've rambled enough for now. I can't post any pictures of my projects this weekend because I'm working but will try to get some up by the beginning of the week. Please let me know if there are any classes, projects or ideas you are looking for specifically and I'll do my best to offer them!!

Out of Touch - I'm Back!!

I'm sorry if you've visited my blog recently! It looks like I got lost at the dispatch class!! Well, I'm back!! Alot has happened since March - I've finished my classes and am now a certified Emergency Telecommunications Officer!! I've been training with Jefferson PD and am really enjoying it. I also had an interview with Hopatcong PD and am in the middle of their application process. I start working as an EMT for a summer program next week so life has been very hectic lately!!

Here's the card I quickly made for my hubby this morning for Father's Day (nothing like waiting till the last minute, huh?):

The background is a little plain but not bad for a first (and only) try!! I LOVED making the shirt from a 4"x6" printed paper using origami. Thank you to SCS for the wonderful people who share their ideas!!

9-1-1 Dispatch Class

These are pictures of the 12x12 2-page spread we made at Spring Fling. I've shown the two pages together, then Page 1 (with my fingers!), the Page 2 shows how the top flap on the two pages open. Very nice spread, if I do say so myself!!

This is a picture of the 5x5 Altered Journal we also did at Spring Fling. This was sooo easy! I want to alter the bigger one now!! Love the new Spiral Punch!!

The next few pictures are a sampling of the 60 cards I made over the weekend using a template I found on SplitCoastStampers - thank you to the wonderful person who posted this fantastic idea! Basically, you make 60 cards fronts from a Simply Scrappin' Kit. Then you mount them onto the front of 1/2 a sheet of cardstock, folded, to make your completed card!! Very, very easy! I started to take some liberties after I made a few - I got bored with just word stamps and strips of card stock & stickers. The last one shows one of the ones I made with an image stamp and some punched out flowers.

Mystery Hostess Workshop Results

Well, my first Mystery Hostess Workshop turned out great :) I had three "newbie" stampers and one established stamper join me. We made a 3x3 Easter Card and another card using the Polka Dots & Paisley Set. I also had them make the cutest, easiest nugget holders which literally took all of five minutes to make!! They seemed to have a good time but we've left the WS open to see if I get any more orders since I wasn't able to give away the Hostess Benefits. Bummer - but they all seemed to have a great time and I actually created the cards by myself (with a little inspiration from the great gals on Splitcoast!!). Now I've got to create of couple more cute cards since two of the girls that were there last night will be at another workshop of mine on Friday. I am feeling a little more comfortable with creating cards and have even scheduled a "Stamp-A-Stack"!!

I'll try to post the cards we made and a picture of the nugget holder (if I can steal my daughter's cute little Kodak digital camera again!). I'm having trouble remembering to take pictures or scan my creations into the computer. Ah, the trials & tribulations of maintaining a blog!! lol

Spring Fling Update!!

WOW! That really doesn't cover it but I just got home from my first Spring Fling and am not sure how else to describe it!! I had a great time, swapped for the first time, made three of the five make-n-takes, learned some new stuff, made new friends, had a fantastic lunch and won a SNAIL Refill AND a Doodle Numbers stamp set!!!! WOW!!

Some of the best ideas I heard were from Tina about working around business trends and thinking "outside the box" when it comes to making it easy for our customers to get our products. As I sit down and work through these ideas, I'll post what I'm doing and how the idea is doing. I want to start with designing some type of club - maybe a Marker Club and a Stamp of the Month Club. I'm too tired tonight to think these out right now but I am putting this on my To Do List - another great idea from the training is to write out my To Do List and prioritize it!

I also have to make more swaps for our team meeting next week - I'll post them here when they're done since I forgot to post any from this batch! I had a blast swapping!! The cards were BEAUTIFUL!! I am so excited to finally have lots of different ones to show at my workshops and to CASE ;)

I'm off to bed - exhausted from such an exciting and long day!! I'll pull out my notes and share some other great ideas in the next few days!! Nite :)
